National Essay Formation FEB Untan (Esnas) is a writing competition intended for Diploma / S1 / equivalent students organized by UKM Scientific Student Forum or FORMASI FEB Tanjungpura. The essay competition carries the theme "Innovation and Creation of Generation Z in Optimizing Sustainable Economic Growth in the Era of Society 5.0". The implementation of this competition is motivated by the rapid development of understanding and critical thinking of students so that a forum is needed for them to compete with each other to find creative ideas in finding solutions to existing problems in the midst of the development of the society 5.0 era.
The student, who is familiarly called Rahma Andini, took the socio-cultural sub-theme in the essay competition she participated in by raising the topic "Strategy for Developing the Potential of Jamu as a Cultural Heritage Based on Community Empowerment Linkage in Indonesia". Community Empowerment Linkage (CEL) is an approach that involves the active participation of the community in decision-making and implementation of development activities. This approach aims to empower communities economically, socially, and politically, so that they can take an active role in the development of their local potential. In the context of developing the potential of herbal medicine as a cultural heritage, CEL can be applied by involving local communities in all stages of development, from the production of raw materials to the marketing of herbal products. By implementing a strategy to develop the potential of herbal medicine as a cultural heritage based on CEL, it is hoped that the potential of herbal medicine can be developed sustainably and empower local communities through economic empowerment and human resource development of local communities.
Successfully winning this essay competition is certainly not an easy thing for Rahma Andini to go through, there are many processes and stages that must be passed diligently and consistently so that it can get maximum results. The first stage that was passed was starting from registration, then finding a supervisor and preparing work for the initial selection. After passing the work selection stage, the finalists then held a technical meeting for technical preparation, followed by the final stage of presenting their respective works. The obstacle experienced by Rahma Andini was the competition schedule which was very close to MSIB activities, making her try as much as possible to manage her time well. Rahma Andini revealed that she felt she was less adept at preparing scientific papers with the use of standardized scientific languages, coupled with a fairly short time to work on the work. However, even though it was quite difficult, Rahma Andini still ventured and continued to feel challenged to complete the work she wrote. In facing challenges during the preparation of the work, Rahma Andini tried to manage her time as well as possible. In between her internship activities, she used it to read related articles, news, and journals that she could use as references. In addition, she is also always diligent in practicing presentations with the support of her friends who also become a support system that provides a lot of input so that she feels more confident.
Learning from the obstacles faced by Rahma Andini, she gained many new experiences while participating in the essay competition, especially training herself to be more courageous in trying new things, developing writing skills, and increasing self-confidence. Another thing that made Rahma Andini excited was the reward she received from this event, which was pocket money and relationships to brainstorm. For her, winning the title can certainly fuel her enthusiasm to take part in other positive activities. "Besides being able to beautify the appearance of my CV, winning this competition can also make my parents proud and be better known by my friends," said Rahma Andini.
Rahma Andini's success in winning third place is certainly inseparable from the struggle, maximum effort, and time she sacrificed to face all the challenges. One of the most important things in undergoing a process for her is to have the courage to fail and never give up in the face of problems and obstacles that come. Make failure as a spark of enthusiasm and keep walking until you reach the highest point. As a young generation that still has many opportunities, they must make optimal use of their time by trying many new things, exploring themselves as well as possible, and taking every opportunity that exists. "Don't try to be good before trying, but try various things to get better and results will never betray the effort," said Rahma Andini while giving thanks to God for all the challenges he could go through until finally all the processes he faced could run smoothly.
