Increase the Creativity of Young Servants, BEM FEB Unud Holds Wedang Karsa Product Launching as an Output of PPK ORMAWA in AMBRIUM 2023
Denpasar, BEM FEB Unud The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University (BEM FEB Unud) has held a product launch event in the Abdi Muda Equilibrium (AMBRIUM) series on Friday (10/11) in the BH Building Hall, 4th floor, Sudirman Campus FEB Unud, which was attended by 32 AMBRIUM product launch volunteer participants with the theme "Growing the Spirit of Abdi Muda Civitas Ekonomi PEKA (Caring, Explorative, Creative, and Adaptive) in Developing Village Potential Optimally". Wedang Karsa is one of the robust coffee powder product brands pioneered by the PPK Ormawa BEM FEB Unud Implementation Team, which was implemented in Karya Sari Village, Pupuan District, Tabanan Regency, Bali Province, by prioritizing quality and empowering village communities designed based on customer relationship management.
In line with the theme of the event, the Wedang Karsa Product Lauching has the aim of increasing brand awareness of Wedang Karsa products, which also includes updates that have been given by new students, especially AMBRIUM volunteers, from the results of previous activities. In addition, this event was held as a forum for publication and socialization of the PPK Ormawa BEM FEB Unud Implementation Team program among new students so that the coffee product "Wedang Karsa" is increasingly known by the general public, especially in the FEB Unud environment.
Not only as a place to introduce products to a wide audience, the AMBRIUM 2023 event series also provides good benefits or outputs, especially for participants, so that they can implement the knowledge they have gained when starting a business and making a product. "We instill and introduce business habits and knowledge to students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, especially new students. One example is product launching; previously, we have also carried out product tests, market tests, training, and surveys in Karyasari Village. So, it is hoped that students will get business knowledge to produce their own brand of products later, "said Kadek Naraya Yoga Semadi, Head of the PPK Ormawa Implementation Team of BEM FEB Unud.
This product launch work program is indeed relatively new because it was only held this year. With the curiosity that arose, it sparked the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the participants in the activity. Naraya Semadi felt the same way about the enthusiasm that filled the entire event room. "The enthusiasm was extraordinary; there were many who asked questions, but because of the limited time and the number, we could not optimize because initially the concept was in the village, so only a few were selected to participate," he concluded. Not only the enthusiasm of the participants, but the organizers also felt a sense of enthusiasm tucked with a sense of challenge. This is the first time the event has been held, which is certainly an obstacle to organizing the concept of the event from the beginning to the day of the activity. In line with this, Ni Kadek Ayu Puspita, the Chairperson of the AMBRIUM Committee, revealed that there were several obstacles faced, such as venue constraints and invitation pick-ups, that affected the timing of activities. However, the committee was able to overcome these obstacles so that there were no significant obstacles that really hampered the course of the event.
In addition to the long preparation process that the committee had to go through, it was also experienced by the organizing team of PPK ORMAWA BEM FEB Unud. Agreeing with this statement, Naraya Semadi, a representative of the PPK ORMAWA Implementation Team, also said that his team had gone through a long preparation process, from preparing materials for product launch to considering changes from benchmarking results and market results to make product quality even better. "We also need to make a material, and we also make changes both in Karyasari Village regarding the raw materials used or from business actors regarding what changes they need to make for Wedang Karsa products to be better in the future," he said. With various updates, the PPK ORMAWA team also wants to make innovations to their Wedang Karsa products so that they can continue to adjust to market needs. "The first innovation is related to packaging; so far we have used aluminum packaging, so of course the selling price can be said to be quite expensive for rural areas. We are working on plastic packaging, which, of course, in terms of price will be affordable and also more minimalist for the people in the Tabanan area," he said.
With the implementation of the product launch event in this Ambrium series, there is hope that Wedang Karsa products will be able to reach a wider audience. Especially from the partner cooperated with PPK ORMAWA, Karyasari Village, which also hopes for the Wedang Karsa product. "I thank you because, frankly, we are from the village and far from the crowd; maybe we don't know enough, especially from marketing; hopefully our products can develop, especially in marketing later," said Juliarta as Head of Karya Sari Village. In line with this, the PPK Ormawa BEM FEB Unud Implementation Team also hopes to expand the market for the Wedang Karsa product. "Because this product was only formed this year through PPK Ormawa activities. So, we want to expand our market net by introducing our products at various community events so that Wedang Karsa products will be better known by the public, "he said.
At the end of the hopes expressed by the various parties that have been interviewed, there are also various messages that are revealed for future steps. Ayu Puspita expressed her hopes for the future of the event. "Hopefully, this event will be continued because it is still new. So, the preparation is less mature, and because we already know what the program is like, next year we can be better prepared for the next one," she said. In addition, Naraya Semadi also expressed a message to the participants to be able to utilize the knowledge gained to develop a product later. "Hopefully this year's AMBRIUM volunteers can implement the business knowledge gained, and after this work program, it is hoped that students will be able to build their businesses and engage in entrepreneurship directly in the industry," he concluded at the end of the interview.
