Unud Debate Team Achieves Achievement in the 2021 National University Debating Championship (NUDC)

Rector of Unud Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara together with the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, the Head of BKM and the Chair of the USCC received an audience of students from the Unud Debate Team and the Guiding Lecturer at the Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Wednesday (15/9/2021).

The Unud Debate Team won an achievement in the 2021 National University Debating Championship (NUDC) which was held by the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The achievements were in the Novice Category with the title Co-2nd Runner Up on behalf of A.A Ayu Riezka Adelia and Tjokorda Istri Nadia Dewi Pemayun from the Faculty of Medicine, Unud. Besides that, Tjokorda's wife Nadia Dewi Pemayun also won the Gold Medal for Best Speaker Novice Category and A.A Ayu Riezka Adelia won the Silver Medal. Meanwhile, for the Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI), Unud Cokorda Istri Kirana Pramesti from the Faculty of Law, made it to the quarter-finals. The supervisor of the Unud Debate Team is NLP Krisnawati from the Faculty of Humanities.

On the occasion, the Rector of Unud appreciated the achievements of the students. The Rector hopes that these outstanding students can become role models and trigger others to excel in all fields. These outstanding students are asked to transmit the achievements achieved in their respective faculties so that the achievements of Unud students are increasing. In the future, student funds will be increased but all must be able to be absorbed. Student achievement determines the integrity of the university and is on par with other universities. The Rector will give awards to outstanding students and mentoring lecturers. The Rector plans to form a community of students who excel at national and international levels that can become front liners for activities that involve students. The Rector also hopes that Unud can become a host for international level events.

During the hearing, discussions were also held between university leaders and students and supervisors regarding suggestions to increase the number of outstanding students at Udayana University.
